The Beacon

The Beacon

The beacon sends a message of warning,
away from the cliffs you to guide,
the cove is a symbol of comfort,
from the storm you it gratefully hides,
To entice with its clandestine slumber,
Of sleepy and blissful content,
While the beacon stands braced to attention,
Its very existance lament.
The rocks are of honest demeanor,
their substance and power is clear,
plot a natural course far around them,
and into the cove you will steer.
But the beacon is misrepresented.
Its not from the rocks it does warn,
Its seen thousands go by unsuspecting,
in the knowledge they'll never return.
So the beacon an angel of mercy,
While its tale is tragic and woe,
its the cove that is breaming in malice,
and the lure that it uses is hope.
